The Brown Family, who adopted a Peruvian bear in 1958 are not impressed about their portrayal in a recent adapation and are threatening legal action.
The family’s main complaint is that they are being represented as fully three dimensional beings, despite being proud 2-D cutouts.
“We feel this is a slur to our two-dimensional people, and typical of the way modern media is going,” said Henry Brown. “This is as bad as having a Yorkshireman playing Gandhi, or a Mancunian playing Our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Paddington was not available for comment, as he was in Yorkshire trying to renegotiate his likeness rights from Jeremy Clarkson’s mum.
