The notoriously secretive International Rescue organisation have announced that they are to launch legal action against Crossrail and Herrenknecht AG over a patent infringment issue.
They claim that the tunnelling technology used in the construction of the new tunnel through London is a clearly a copy of their vehicle “The Mole”.
Lady Creighton-Ward, spokesperson for IR, stated that a clear patent infringement had been committed and that restitution would be sought.
Ms. Ward refused to comment when asked about the Tunnelling Shield which was first developed in 1825 by Marc Brunel.
