Taxi Driver Has License Revoked

A local taxi driver has recently had his license to operate suspended following claims that his vehicle is unsuitable and fails to meet current standards.

New regulations specify that Hackney Carriages must have at least four passenger seats, be wheelchair friendly, and be less than eight years old.

Mr. Noddy, who has been driving the same two-seater vehicle since 1949, is fighting the suspension under an obscure “grandfather rights clause” in his operating license.

The suspension will have wide ranging consequenses, as Mr. Noddy is the sole taxi operator in the area.
